Florida tint law, quick version
- Front side windows: 28% or lighter, film and glass measured together.
- Behind the driver on cars: 15% or lighter on the rear sides and back window.
- Behind the driver on SUVs, trucks and vans: 6% or lighter.
- Windshield: only a non-reflective strip above the AS-1 line, unless you have a medical exemption.

Questions people ask
Is ceramic tint worth it over carbon?
Every film we sell blocks 99% of UV. Ceramic is about heat: carbon rejects about 30% of infrared heat, CXP about 77%, CIR about 85% and Evolve 95%. If you just want privacy and UV protection, carbon does the job. If the car cooks in the sun, go ceramic.
What warranty comes with the tint?
SunTek CXP, CIR and Evolve carry a lifetime national warranty honored at any SunTek or LLumar dealer. Our carbon film has its own lifetime warranty against fading, peeling and cracking.
How dark can I tint in Florida?
28% on the front side windows (film and glass measured together), 15% on the rear of cars, and 6% on the rear of SUVs, trucks and vans. We meter the fronts before pickup.
How much is the deposit?
$20 holds a tint appointment and comes off your total. PPF, ceramic coating and wraps take a 30% deposit.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, through Afterpay and American First Finance.
